umm...i just bought this clay called "sculpey" from Wal-mart and i molded my snake a little hiding spot. I'm just curious if this is safe for him or if i should remove it asap because of chemicals inside the clay...?

Does the package give any health warnings? Like, DO not eat, or anything like that? Or saying Non Toxic? This would give you a good indication if the clay is safe for reptiles.
It's just a paper mache based product. Add water and form, no big deal, it's completely non toxic!

I'm afraid you are thinking of something else. SculpyIII is a polymer based clay, which is capable of putting off toxic fumes during the baking process, but should be completely safe when baked and cooled. I'd say it would be fine.
I use it a lot. I have even seen people put it in fishtanks, when properly sealed with an appropriate glaze.

I think you are thinking of DAS clay, which is an air drying clay product.
Sculpey clay is toxic when not baked but will be fine after you bake it . I don't use it for my animals but I do sculpt with it a lot.
