PICS OF MY BABY COASTAL FEEDING...

HerpGuy#1 Nov 04, 2003 03:31 PM

Hey there. Well, here she is feeding on her first rat pinky. I've been feeding here tiny white fuzzies that don't even have their eyes open yet, but I figured I give the rat pinkies a go. I need to learn about the best lighting because out of about 30 pics taken, these are the select few that are actually clear enough.

Here she is not long after she struck at her prey.

Pinky's almost gone

And down it goes

Boy is she stuffed!

Well that's it for now. She's still got a piece of skin about an inch back from her head, but other than that, her fresh coloring is so beautiful.

It so much fun to watch the little pigs eat isn't it? I can remember the first time I saw my first carpet chug down a pinkie...It was on the larger size and she stuffed it down within minutes. I was very impressed!

I'm glad to see your little girl is eating and doing well! Congrats!

BTW when your taking pictures inside it helps to have a light overhead, and your back to any open windows. Also use a flash. That should help with your pictures comming out a bit brighter.

Hey Darci. This is quite an experience. I knew I would love my coastal when I decided to finally get it. She comes from a great online breeder and I'm totally pleased. The cam I have is a web/digicam and is has no flash. All I can do is take lots of pics and keep the ones that look decent. I'll try a brighter light overhead and having my back to the window. Do you have any baby coastals right now Darci? Or are they all adults? Well, ty for the reponse.

I have an adult pair of coastal carpets (which I'm hoping will breed this year), and I have an '02 Coastal female and an '02 Jaguar sibling male. Funds and space are kinda limiting me currently on expanding the collection. But I'm hoping to invest in a few more coastals and some IJ this next spring if all goes well.
