I'm concerding getting a boa or python. I already have corns and a milk. Can anyone tell me the difference between boas and pythons? I know boas bear live young and pythons lay eggs. I don't plan on breeding. I just like them as pets. Which one would be better for a beginner.. I don't want that will get to big. Probably 6 foot max.

Depends. There are many different species of boas and pythons. Some make great beginner herps, some don't. A few good pythons would be childrens pythons, spotted pythons, and (in some people's opinion, though I do not agree) ball pythons. Some good boas would be rubber boas, rosy boas, and kenyan sand boas. All make faily good pets and stay fairly small (under 4 ft). Andy

Just to confuse you a bit, there are two or three species of egg laying boas. Boas can be as different from other boas as they are from pythons, so concentrate on which species of either one you want.
If that makes any sense.

Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?
