Can anyone tell me any silkworm sellers out there. I am having a hard time finding anyone to buy them from.
Thanks,
well, when i fully get into breeding them ill be buying mine from
www.mulberryfarms.com
i ordered roaches from them and theyre top notch!
I have not personally ordered from them, I have heard good things about Mulberry Farms. They seem like a good company and I bet they would be a good choice. They sell eggs, silk worms, and silkworm chow. YOu might want to wait for some other posts before ordering anything. jrbl
I also would suggest trying mulberryfarms.com. I have purchases silkworm eggs and chow from them in the past and had a good experience. They do sell hatched silkworms of various sizes (for a higher price than eggs). Keep in mind, if you want to breed them, use real mulberry leaves so they can produce silks. They have huge appetites... I have raised them years ago on mulberry leaves and kept a few adults to cocoon. I did get eggs, but never tried to hatch them years ago...so they aren't good anymore I guess.

Even fed on the chow they produce the silk to cocoon and will morph into the moth and lay eggs. My very first attempt at raising silkworms I got several cocoons, moths and eggs. No luck in hatching the eggs but I didn't really know what I was doing either. My dragons really loved the pupae from the cocoons I opened!

I have never tried to raise silkworms on chow only, but plan to one of these days when I feel up to it. I was unsure if the chow diet still allows for normal silk production so they can cocoon properly and emerge as viable moths.
