brumation when how long how cold..............

hey this is going to be my first brumation period (well my lizards any way) what do i need to do how cold should it get how long should it be cold what don't i know that could help (anything) etc...... thanks

Hi! I would just keep the enclosure just the way it was before your beardie decided to brumate. That's the easiest thing to do. The beardie will come out again when he feels ready. Just make sure you have food available for him every day (fresh greens and/or pellets)!

so i dont need to alow the cage to get cooler or the lights to stay on less (my dragons haven't decided to brumate yet) what do i need to do in prepreation

Some people might disagree with me, and if so, please reply to this thread, but my opinion is that if a beardie wants to brumate, it will do so. You don't need to "force" it, by turning down the temps. In captivity, not all beardies feel the need to brumate. In that case I think it can do more harm than good to force them into brumation. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about anything right now. Just wait and see. If it starts to brumate, just keep your setup the same, offer greens in the morning (skip the crickets), and perhaps take your beardie out once a week for a nice soak.

Of course, other opinions are more than welcome!
