Anyone ever kept these newts? Where is good place online buy them? Can pet stores order them?

Your best bet is to go to caudata.org and check their advertising forum for ads and put a wanted ad in the wants section. Take Care. Bill

i keep mine at room temperature-78F--84F.They are in the living room on the top of a closet!I raise them since they were tiny things and now they are big and fat!Read my message below.

these animals are from china, biejin if i recall...

and they live in streams, not tropical jungles.

These streams are sually really cold. So they are happy at ~60 degrees, as are most asian newts. Am I wrong? So 50-60 is good for them...80 is way too hot.

BTW, ios anyone selling emperor newts anymore? Croc newts are the brown ones and emps are the ones with orange crests..right?

Here in Malaysia the petshops are selling them, the Verrucosus. The weather here is very hot because Malaysia is an equatorial country. So even inside the petshops with air condo the temp is never below 76F.
I keep mine ( i have 3 verrucosus and one Shanjing)in soil too, not water.
