It was probably moving, they do that especially when you are trying to hold them and take a picture.

I haven't seen these individuals, but the blue trees I have seen have been that vibrant. The body shape is not something I really like, but man that blue makes me forget.

Nice monitor!!

Has nobody seen a blue tree monitor before? I know that they are extremely rare in collections, but those of you who frequent this forum, has had to have seen at least one pic of these guys. They are in my opinion, one of the most stunning animals in existence; you really don't see that color in any other reptilian species.. As for the pics, I have a real crappy 1.2 megapixel camera; far inferior to most of your camera's, but it does the job; soon, I will be investing in a better one, does anybody have any suggestions, keeping in mind i am not in the position to spend thousands of dollars on a camera??. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks for your posts, I'll keep the pics coming!!

I was defending the fact the pictures were NOT altered. I am not sure if you picked up on that or not.

There is nothing wrong with the camera, like you said they are that blue. There are people that play all sorts of games with photoshopping pics for monitors that they then sell, so I guess people are overly critical.

They are very pretty,

hey robert,

no, I know that you were defending me, I did not mean the post to be aimed at you.. As for the camera and the picture, I think what people are talking about is that around the edges of the object in focus(monitor) it is blurry and there is a blueish "halo" around it. I admit that my camera sucks; it was the cheapest one at the store, I just bought it because I needed a camera at that moment, I did not intend on using it as much as I have... So again, that post was not directed at you; I am not one for calling people out.. take care

another pic of one of my males...

pgross8245 Nov 06, 2003 07:01 AM

The pictures do not do them justice. I talked to Bob just before the Tinley Park show in Chicago as he was looking for a female at the time and I said I would check at the show. They did have one blue tree monitor and the color is an incredible mix of aqua and sapphire blue, the most colorful monitor I have ever seen, it was, however, a male. Hope he has success breeding them, good luck Bob.

I have owned several digital cameras from "high end" to "get this digital camera free with the purchase of a pack of gum," but the best digital I have ever owned is the coolpix 3100 by Nikon. For under $300 you get a 3.2 megapixel camera with all the bells and whistles. When I am photographing insects, I can get less than 2 inches from the subject with the macro feature. This is a very small, lightweight camera that will not let you down. And, just in case mine ever does let me down, I bought anothr 3100 for a backup! I think I should get a commission from Nikon for this post! LOL. Good luck, and nice monitor!

That sounds like just what I am looking for; one who is moderately priced, and has more than the crappy 1.2 megapixels that my current camera has. Thanks again...

I'm jealous, so I say they were photoshopped.
