Help with cage question, Please?

Poohbear03031 Nov 05, 2003 07:14 PM

Okay, My fiance and I are trying to come up with an inventive cage idea. The top of our entertainment center would make a good cage, but I am not sure if it would be large enough for a beardie. Can someone help me out? The measurements are as follows: 52" L x 14 1/2" W x 15 1/2" H. Thnaks.

the dimensions would be alright for an adult bearded dragon.

That is a decent size area. You may want to consider access though. How high is it?
What substrate will you be using? Most entertainment centers are particle board and with much weight it will sag. (without additions bracing)

Is the T.V. right under it? TV's do get quite warm so you may want to watch that the heat rising from it doesn't make the cage get too warm. One way to help that is to buy the insulation panels (big pink sheets of foam stuff from Home Depot) You can put a layer of that under the shelf that would be the cage floor.
That will help heat transfer.

Hope that helps the planning.
