Pilbara Eggs

NUTT Nov 05, 2003 07:31 PM

Just found out after waiting 120 days that my 5 pilbara eggs
are dead. Incubation temp was 85 degrees constant
(minor fluctuations, incubator works off ambient temp).
Moisture inside was sufficent(?).
Eggs where nested in vermiculite.
Female is gravid again and I would not want to have a loss
again.
I would appreciate any advise given.
Thanks

I'm guessing that you are referring to the Pilbara python (& not the Pilbara monitor). I'm not a snake expert per-se, but were the eggs fertile (candled)? Were the eggs gently moved into the moistened vermiculite in the same orientation as they were layed? If the abovementioned items were followed, the only other things that would affect development would be temperature & humidity levels.
