I am about to buy a reticulated via the internet and when I asked what type of retic it was I was told just a reticulated python, no specifics as to rather or not it was a jampea or such, this will be my first retic, i have been very successful with my boas and would just like to know before i buy this retic what exactly it is i am getting, also has anyone ever dealt with snakes at sunset in Miami,as you can see from the pic this is a very nice looking specimen, thanks, Mac

Yes , this is the retic I am about to buy, i am actually supposed to purchase him tomorow and accept delivery friday, thats why i wanted to ask someone who knows more about retics than me if they have ever seen this type before? Mac

I would bet a million dollars that snake in the picture isn't the actual snake you will recieve. If that was the case someone would have bought it months ago. See my post below.

Nice retic, but a friend of mine ordered from them and the shipment arrived dead. They never reimbursed him or returned his money. Good luck.

I know the site you found that pic on. I was checking it out one day and came across one of my friends pics which they were using to sell that species of snake. Had the price under the picture and everything. So, the retic pictured probably isn't theirs and I doubt you will get anything simular to it.

I did ask if the retic was the same color as the one in the picture and he is supposed to email me a pic of the snake i am getting late tonight or early tomorow, as soon as i get the pic i will post it on here, does anyone happen to know what type of retic this is?

How about you just buy a retic from a reputable dealer?? There are many of them out there that have excellent stock, and you would have to deal with all these worries and problems. I am willing to bet the retic that you get looks nothing like the one in that pic, or else someone would of swiped it up as soon as it came into the country.

Maybe it's just me, but that picture looks blatantly edited. The yellow on the sides GLOWS a little bit unnaturally and the black is in a bit too stark of contrast to he body. I'm not digital effects expert, but I believe that if that picture is not just an out-and-out fake, then someone has at least taken a shot of one of Bob's genetic stripes and played with it a bit.

I sent Bob Clark an email asking his opinion on the snake in the picture and he told me he actually has the snake and recieved it from Snakes at Sunset, Bob also told me he has never had a problem with the guy, Carlos sent me a pic of the one I am buying and it looks like the one in the pic as well , so with Bob giving the nod to the guy I think I will go ahead and get it , I do want to thank everyone for there help on this one, I will be posting pics as he matures, Thanks, Mac

I drove over 100miles to see this snake in person. The snake has been sold about 3 days ago. If the snake was still there i would of bought it givin I know The guys down at Snakes and Sunset Pretty well. They did say that they get snakes like that in all the time and will let me know. The retics he had in were a few normals and a yellow head. There was one albino retic but not in the price range you were looking for. There was a tiger they were selling as a normal as well. Anyways just wanted to let you in on what's going on,
John

I've seen that picture on their website....I saw it about a year ago!!

It's an old pic and it doesn't even look real. If that was a retic "morph" it would probably sell for thousands.

Take the advice given already...buy from a reputable breeder...no need to waste your time worrying about the quality of the animal.

I aprreciate everyones help, but after i talked to bob clark he told me that he bought one of the snakes from the same guy and assured me that the snake does indeed look like it does in the picture, and also assured me he is a reputable dealer, thanks Mac

I inquired about that very same pic about a year ago and they admitted they didn't have the one in the pic. Pretty shoddy business if you ask me...
