OFF TOPIC- Where can I host images?

rc_racer_007 Nov 05, 2003 08:11 PM

Where can i host images on line and also be able to directly link them. So for example i can post an image on this board instead of a link to it? I dont want to have to pay either, but if i must ill consider it.

The images i have exceed 250K so i cant load them to the pethobbyist gallery

Well, I am very happy with www.imageevent.com/. You can upload upto 1500 images and i forget how many megs, but its a lot. You can host every file type and also .avis and .mpegs (movies) It does cost money, but only 2.95 a month. Oh yeah, there is no limit to the file size you can upload. Check them out.

I went ahead and joined image event. I was looking into sony's image station but that palce runs sooooooo slow (and im on cable), its confusing, and they dont allow direct links for pictures.

Thanks!

You can link a picture from imagestation. What you do is load your picture to the site, then put it in a album. Now you right click on the image, go to properties, and copy the address of the picture. Note that you have to use the resized version imagestation put in your album, not the full sized picture that you loaded to the site. Then you just paste the image address where ever you need it. The only bad thing is that the pictures are all resized, so you cant link a large image.

Im sure theres a way with image station. I tried on preview it did show the image then minutes later after editing the message it said imagestation couldnt post the images or something. It was sloooooow, and im on cable. It was very confusing also. I already paid for membership so ill just stick with imageevent. The site is fast, easy, and i like it overall. Thanks for your help any ways!
