Thinking of Getting a Lizard.

Beryl Nov 05, 2003 09:07 PM

Hey i'm new to reptiles and I'm thinking about getting one but i'm not sure what kind. I want one that's kinda big, fairly easy to take care of, and something that will sit with me while i'm watching TV or reading or whatever. Could someone please give me some suggestions? Would a snake be better?

How long do you want it to sit still for? Most of 'em actually get bored (cold?) after sitting on a couch for 10 or 15 minutes in my experience.

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?

Bearded dragons are really one of the best lizards for newbies. They are medium sized I think they can get up to two feet long but alot of that is tail. They are very calm once they get older, mine Loves sitting on my sholder. The only downsides IMO is they eat alot and they need fairly large cages. Leopard geckos are good too but they are smaller and not quite as docile.
