Lily is rearranging her tank.......

RedQuake Nov 05, 2003 10:13 PM

I'm a bit concerned about her. All of the things she can move (toilet paper roll, plastic half pot hide etc.) gets put in a different spot. Every night is the same thing, she moves everything around and she's by no means quiet about it. When i had Boo out the other night he got a tour of the rest of the tanks so he knows he's not alone. When Lily was making all of this noise, i found him standing upright against a rock looking straight up.

Lily isn't shedding so i don't know why she would be moving everything. This isn't like her at all. Before she was put in that tank, all of the heavy stuff was secured so i'm confident she won't get hurt.

Anyone else have restless geckos? Her tank is a 20gal long, the temps are good.

Thanks,
Red

All of my girls are still to small to breed. Only Zoe is big (still need to post pics of her) but still not big enough to be a mama. None of them have had actual contact with my males, more like window shopping LOL For the most part they have all met eachother through the safety of their tank glass

That makes me wonder though, and i don't recall in the posts.... do females develope eggs without having a male breed to her? Sorry i've been so stressed that i can't remember anything.

Maybe Lily is just being a brat........she especially likes to move the artificial plants

Thanks for your help

Lol, window shopping. You know what.. I don't remember either if they lay infertile eggs, but I think they do. Don't take my word for it though!

They can develope infertile eggs. I wouldnt worry though. I have my 3 females in a 20gal long tank and one of them always bites and drags one of the plants around. I just think she doesnt like my decorting abilites. I use to have 2 food bowls in their tank (1 being a ceramic bowl, the other being a top of Jiffy peanut butter lid), I have 2 ceramic food bowls in there now because 1 night I heard all kinds of racket. It turns out when I got up I saw the biggest one carring the jiffy lid with her mouth and the other 2 were chasing her around. They dont fight over food at all I think they were playing or something. So thats why I had to buy another food bowl. I swear when I saw her do that I was waiting for her back feet to come up off the ground and her just walk with her front legs lol.

my boyfriends gecko will dig and move her substrate when she is gravid so you might want to be suspisous of that. She will move things around trying to find the perfect place to lay her eggs.

Lily has never been with a male, unless she's producing infertile eggs on her own?!?. She's still really tiny too, a juvi.

I was up again last night and she was at it again....non stop.
