Lee's Reptile Ranch 7 Kritter Keepers

Vivarium Nov 06, 2003 07:34 AM

I know these cages are poor homes for lizards (with the exception of some small geckos), but I have found the really big ones, like the large, 17" Reptile Ranches and the 5-10 gallon size Kriteer Keepers make great homes for things like fire salamanders and dart frogs as long as room temps are right. Anybody else like using them?

I use them mostly as temporary housing, for quarantine tanks, froglet tanks, etc. I used a large one for house geckos, and they do come in handy for crickets. If I found a really large one, I'd probably use it for more animals, too.

I've got my baby toad in a critter keeper, they're pretty cool. They have all the advantages of plastic tubs but you can actually seen in them. I've seen some that are larger than 10 gallons.

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?

I use 1 for my baby leopard gecko, 2 either for collecting containers, or containers i put my animals in it when I'm cleaning my tank, and one as an incubator.
