preferred sex of a crested gecko?

alieliza Nov 06, 2003 08:18 AM

I am thinking of getting a crested gecko, and i think i had read that females tend to be more sociable than males? I was wondering if anyone had any input on this.
Thanks

With my experienc w/ crested geckos multiple females can live together w/ no conflict. But two males living in the same enclosure could cause some problems. They are territorial, and if you have one female with two males, i would say the males would be very agressive to eachother during breeding season. that and i would reccomend getting a female. males are cheaper but easier to come across adults if you want to breed your femals when she is full grown. _ben
