0.1 Albino

Here's an '03 female that I got from Mike Wilbanks. She is around 6ft long and weighed in exactly at 4lbs yesterday. The pics aren't outstanding-any ideas on how to get good albino pictures?? She's a lavendar phase, but she just ends up looking dirty...

She's beautiful. When I take pictures of the albinos I use the flash, but I use flash filters. You can actually make these yourself out of dark cloth. You just find the right thickness and viola!,. you have great pictures. Before this I used to go nuts trying to get good pics of the albinos. With no flash they looked dingy and drab,.. with the flash I got nothing but light backwash, or flashback, off of the snake. Then I thought,.. hey, simple,... filter the flash! And it worked. Good luck.

I appreciate the compliment and the help with the flash. I will definitely try it next time... Have a good one!

That's impressive that that is an '03. I picked up one of Mike's '03 tiger het albinos at the Dallas show, and I was amazed at their size, even though he's only maybe a little over 4' but has some nice thickness. Then through Mike I got one of Bob's really dark lavendars (almost purple without the extra 1k, lol), that just arrived yesterday. She's a little more like what I was expecting, between 2.5 and 3' and fairly slender. I can't wait to see how she develops as she ages. Both of those snakes have awesome attitude. Pictures will come very soon, by the way....

On top of those, I did a trade with a guy by the name of Jim Mason at that show to give him my 1.1 adult and subadult scrub pythons and get 0.1 '02 het albino normal-looking retic that originally came from Bob. I was told she didn't have the best attitude, and I can now vouch for that. She nailed me pretty well the other day, but considering her size (easily 8' or maybe a little more) it could have been worse...lol. I hope to get her up to breedable size next year and have my other two ready year after, but we'll see how it all pans out. All I can really say is that both Mike and Bob have excellent animals and are great to deal with. Whenever I can finally get time to get some pictures made and uploaded, many will come. Oh, by the way and before I go, do you know what month yours was born in? Mike said he has some of his animals breeding right now and should be laying late Jan to Early Feb, to produce animals in April or so. I guess yours would have had to be on the early end, then my tiger must have been midway, and the dark lavendar must have been really recent (though she technically did come from Bob, not Mike). Thanks again for your excellent pictures.

She was born in March of '03. She has grown rather quickly and has never refused a meal-even in shed. I haven't fed her all that SHE wants, but I think I keep her content
She started off eating a few rat pups, but now she's eating very small rabbits (1lb)-I figured small rabbits now would be easier than switching to larger rabbits later.
I am hoping that maybe she could be bred late next year, but we'll have to wait and see. Thanks for your reply!
