a friend of mine had a snake loose in his house for over a year, then one day it just snuck out from behind something, and was found
keep trying the heat light, and offer food in an upright tank on the floor
Good luck

i've tried the heat light and as for offering food, i had him for 7 months and he did not eat at all...the morning i found him missing was the morning he was going to the vet to see if there was anything wrong with him, at 7:30 am i tore the house to pieces. so i'm not too sure the food thing would work....
They do climb. I found one of mine along side another cage higher up.

already thought of that...i literally tore the house upside down, inside out...
I know you said you looked everywhere, but I found an escapee up inside the bottom part of my fridge. I'm sure it liked the idea that it was dark and warm in there.
He'll turn up. I have been ever so careful not to allow any escapees. But, it's happened to me four times anyhow. Sometime when you least expect it you'll look down and there he will be. That's what happened to me every time. One was a w/c Texas Ratsnake, one was a Speckled Kingsnake hatchling and twice was an adult Western Hognose. The longest one missing was the Texas Ratsnake. Found him when I was moving. I had cleaned out all my closets expecting to find him there since I found poop. But to my amazement I found him in the washing machine AFTER I had washed a hugh load of heavy rugs. Poor thing. He was still alive too. He wasn't in the rugs because I shook them out first so he must have been in the washer under the agitator or up under the rim. I couldn't believe that he would've survived such an ordeal. They certainly know how to hide. Let us know when you come across him.
At least it didn't happen in your car like mine did! I was transporting my apricot pueblan and he wiggled through his pillowcase somehow un-noticed. Got home to an empty pillowcase still tied tightly. I tore that pickup apart looking for him. He got into the dash somehow and died...in July...when it's 112 degrees outside. My truck smelled for months.
ya, at least it is cold this time of year...i'm sure he'll show up...jus upset cuz he hadn't eaten since i got him and that was 7 months ago...he was headed to the vet the morning he escaped...thanks all, i'll let ya know when he shows up...
