Would a tegu be the new herp for me???

Hello,Im still wondering would a tegu be the herp for me???I wonder if i could handle one????Im 13 currently owns 1.0hgreen iguana 1.0 rough green snake.Im here all day at my house because im home scewled.Could i keep a tegu in a 6 foot long 3 foot high 2 foot across?

6' by 3' would be about the minimum size cage for a tegu. The Arg B&Ws, Reds, or Blue tegus tend to be more tame then the Columbians. You probably won't need to watch over them all day because they stay in the den most of the time. They are pretty predictable so you'll get to know when he's going to come out. The best thing about tegus is they are generally very nice animals compared to other lizards of the same size. Good luck with you're decision, don't rush into things!

I wouldn't say Tegus in general spend alot of time in their hidebox, Nienna spends most of her time outside, and only goes in her hidebox to sleep or push sand up in it, she's young and this could change, but atleast 80% of her time is spent outside her hidebox.

After an Iguana, even the largest of Tegus shouldn't be a problem, I'd get a young Tegu though, can't miss that baby period.
