Another breeding question, this time about eggs!

poisonfrog420 Nov 06, 2003 02:51 PM

I have breed leos before, but don't rember the time frame. What I want to do is put my male with my females. Then a week later I am goning to CO for a week and a half. Is there any chance that the females would lay before I get back? It would be about 2.5 weeks after I put my male in there. I will wait untill I get back if it is possible because my mom is unhappy enough taking care of the 7 leos, 6 corn snakes and 4 frilled dragons, let alone haveing to take eggs out of a nest box and into the incubator! Thanks for the help, Jake.

yes theres a very real possiblity of a female laying 2.5 weeks after copulation(sp?). I've had females lay at 2 weeks, I would play it safe and just breed afterwords or you could put the male in with the females and leave him for a week and a half that way you would be looking at eggs when you got home and with a male being with a female for that period of time should stress her too much.

HOpe i was of help.
