Smokin' 03 Crimson from Ronda...

Yasser Nov 06, 2003 05:51 PM

This is a girl we picked up from Ronda and Mark at NW Herp a few weeks ago at our local herp show. We also got a male from them too. I had been mulling over this girl for the entire weekend and I was amazed to see that she lasted until the end of the show. So I figured it was meant to be and we bought them. This was in my opinion, the best Crimson she had...she's pretty much banded but the pic doesn't show it too well.
We were planning to phase out our corn collection over the next year or so but I just couldn't pass these two up.
Hope ya like!

WOW, I love that crimson....it is a beauty!
Why are you phasing out your corn collection?!?!?!?!

Seems that more and more people are phasing corns out of their collections. Is this a new trend or is there something new out there that I haven't heard of yet? LOL

I can't imagine not having corns simply because its the only snake that is reasonably affordable given the large variety of morphs... (unlike ball pythons or boas).

Oh well...if ya ever wanna phase out that crimson...look my way

We have been breeding corns for several years now and we have always been more interested in pythons for the challenge. These days we have been lucky enough to end up with some very unique and/or great quality pythons so we are now just shifting our focus to them in order to assure some success with those animals. But I have a feeling we won't ever part with all of our corns. They are just too fun! We depend on them to make sure we see white every year. LOL!
It's funny you mention but I am not a huge fan of all the python and boa morphs but I do like some of the corn morphs...not too much of a fan of amels but I tend to like anything hypo.
I think if anything, so many more people are interested in reptiles these days and it has spawned a huge crowd of folks trying to make a living from this....and that's where the mighty dollar takes over. I will admit that years ago I tried too but I seceded to the simple fact that some of those rare and expensive boid morphs are downright putrid. And also this business became so cutthroat that I almost didn't want to be a part of it. So I went with what makes me most satisfied to work with. We have hard to breed species and the piece of cake species...somewhere in between there is happiness and gratification.

How are crimsons made? Are they just a variation of a Miami? Whatever it is it's beautiful!

Yasser Nov 07, 2003 08:08 PM

From the way Ronda expalined it to me, Crimsons are from one line(Rich Z's or Don Soderburg's) and hypo Miamis are from another. I don't remember which folks she she did what line but that is what they are. But from what I have seen, both lines are a little different from each other.
