Hi, i see from your posting (kingsnake) that you are interested in animals and i thought id let you know about a cool opportunity in case you might want to take advantage of it. Im promoting an open casting call for the Discovery Channel's Crocodile Hunter. They are looking for 10 people to be on a new reality show where they sort of compete against eachother-getting up close and personal with the exotic animals. You dont need to be an actor or have any special skills to audition, they are looking for just regular people who are adventurous. Below is info on it in case you are interested. if not, sorry to bother you...

I haven't gotten the email, but I've seen the commercials.

You are thinking of the wrong show. The one you are referring to is King of the Jungle hosted by Jeff Corwin. The Croc Hunter one is different. I saw him on Jay Leno tonight talking about it. 10 Americans will be taken to his zoo and do various activities to see who should get voted off. The try outs are sometime this weekend in California i believe.

"reality" shows on animals. Man TV ratings must really suck now a days for all this "stuff".

okay?

The show that's running now is Jeff Corwin's show. Is Steve Irwin going to do a copy??? That seems kind of lame...but then again, I guess it's all in the "Animal Planet Family" huh?

I'd be willing to bet, though, that the e-mail is a fraud. I can't imagine that just because you post on an exotic animal forum that they think you'd be a candidate for the show. I'd be on the look-out for someone asking for money to get your name in the hat, so to speak.

for the new crocadile-hunter rip-off of Jeff Corwins "reality" show. It exists and they are two different shows.

I would say that if you were getting a real invitation it would be a little more formal. They say things like "sort of compete". What does that mean? Do you compete or not. Over all it doesn't seem to have much of a marketing flair to it - which it would if it was real.

I have a friend who received an email to audition for Junkyard Wars and it was very formal, he received it a year in advance of the taping and it sent him to a web site to get the details and to tell him where to send the application and a video tape. I doubt this email is real.

Go to Animal Planet for all the details.

My question was if anyone else received the email.
I thought it was a prank email to me. Not a prank on the show.
I personally will not watch such shows.

I think it's because MSNBC is so very different than the glamor and glitz of a reality show.

"DO you know what your neighbor is doing?"

"What boy scout camp is safe?"

"Clarinets....fact or fiction?"

If you think your neigbor of the last 20 years is now secretly working for the Taliban, stockpile rations, construct a nuclear bomb shelter and email everyone that you know, your suspicions.

Over and out....
