Young Argus not too hungry

ToothAndNail Nov 06, 2003 07:57 PM

About a month ago i bought 2 young argus monitors. at first both of them were very active, as they should be.but about a week and a half ago, one of them stopped eating and would hide under the water bowl all day. i keep the cage at about 80 degrees, and 110 in the basking spot, so i don't think its trying to escape the heat, and i'm not sure why it doesn't eat, the other one eats daily and remains active. any help is appreciated.

There are no rules.

If your lizard want something, give it to him.

What does your lizard want?

typically that would mean one is saying, get me the heck away from this other one LOL

You can adjust the basking area temps too. Thats a little low 130 to 160 would work better. The cool end is not bad.

Do you have plenty of hides? more then one basking area?
It could be alot of things. With experience you would know by looking at them and there behaviors. Unfortunatly on here we can only speculate what is going on.
