BCI breeding question..

patoquack Nov 06, 2003 10:58 PM

What size should a female BCI be for safe breeding?
I had heard that 10 lbs was a good size? I have a young female BCI ('01) that is close to 5ft in length, but only about 6lbs..

you would want to shoot for somewhere in the 12 to 15 pound range. I think it's best to have some good weight on the female. I have a girl right now that's about 5 feet and 8 pounds who'll be great and ready to go next season. Good luck!

12lbs is a good weight for females in my experience although I have had animals breed at 9 and 10 lbs.
