>>I'm looking to get into Boa's and Pythons. I've had snakes before, so i'm not a beginner. I don't want a totally common one like a royal, or a red-tail. I also don't want something the size of a burmese, but i do want something that's large in girth.

Having invested the last several months into 1:1 Sumatran Reds and 1:1 Sumatran Short Tail 'black bloods" I can say if you are interested in Python curtus and can handle the size issue, temp and humidity needs and the fact that you should only get CB babies that you will need to work with to tame down, I highly recommend them. They are beautiful animals and three of the four of mine are behaving just like ball pythons and are eating veraciously. Just check out Christian’s posted image above of his former Borneo to see what a beautiful animal they can become. The are very intelligent creatures that from my experience seem to recognize their owner/feeder very quickly. However, I would be the first to admit that they require a good amount of maintenance, far more then the suggested ball python, yet, in the long run are really worth it. Example, my fourth blood...my male Red, is more like owning a caiman then a snake, but we are currently in family counseling and are actively working on our issues together.
