Calcium Needed?

Insideoutsider13 Nov 07, 2003 01:16 PM

If I powder the crickets/mealworms with herpitive multi-vitamin formula powder, then do I also need to put a bowl of calcium in there for the geckos? I know that for breeding the geckos the more calcium they get the better, but should they be getting calcium from the multi-vitamin powder and regular calcium powder?

Hey,

I always leave a calcium dish in the tank for my geckos so that they can lap up as much calcium that they require, even if I do powder their prey with vitamins & calcium.

There isn't any calcium in herptivite. You need to also dust with a calcium supp. that contains d3. If you do this, you will not need the dish. If you want to use an all in one supp. that has added nutrients like protien, good fats, and probiotics, look for the t-rex leopard gecko dust.
good luck
