Should i worry?

chikimonke Nov 07, 2003 01:50 PM

I bought Jak from Petco. I've had him for 2 months now, and haven't noticed anything wrong with him. he's gained plenty of wieght and everything seems fine. Poop is normal, and i'm pretty certain he's shed atleast once. If he had coccidia would something have shown by now? Or might it still be there and is waitng to show it self? I know I've asked a similar question a couples times before, but each time it seemd to get burried before it got answered. Thanks for any input. Here's a picture of Jak now.

If everything seems fine, I wouldn't worry too much. You can usually tell if an animal is sick fairly easily.

Look around the eyes...if they are clear and free of crusties that's good

Look underneath on the belly and around the body for scars, or other unusual features...bumps, growths.

If everything seems fine it probably is...we took a leo from one of the worst stores in town...we were unsure if it would be ok but it ate healthy and seemed fine...we bred it last year and the babies turned out patternless...although I wouldn't recommend buying anything from a petstore...this leo looked mistreated so we bought it.
