Well sort of. I posted something on tongue sheds in the Ball Python Forum (click here). The response was so underwhelming that I figured I wouldn’t bother taking up space here, too. But given our earlier exchange, and your stated admiration of Kauffeld, I thought you might be interested.

Hey Joan,
Nice to hear from you, where have you been? Well, I read the response and, yes, you are right, I am an avid admirer of Mr. Cauffeld and missed meeting him by a few months. Unfortunately he passed away a few months after I'd developed an interest in Herpetology.

At any rate, sorry for the digression, I have noticed tongue sheds in colubrids of the Lampropeltis group over the years and Natricine type too, (garters, water snakes etc), but have never noticed tongue sheds in any boid types ever. It is interesting to note that they do exist and that you noticed. I will most certainly keep an eye open for them. Thanks for posting. -- Angel
