Why would corn just start to attack f/t?

EricJ Nov 07, 2003 03:19 PM

I've had my corn snake for a little while now and everytime i feed her(seperate container and two f/t fuzzies) she slithers around a little smelling the mouse. Then she nudges it with her nose for about a minute. She might bite it in the middle and then go for a different angle. There have been a few times when she bite the mouse before ever getting off my fingers. Anyway, this time she immediatle struck the mouse, let go quick then struck and coiled around the f/t mouse. She made quite sure the mouse was dead. I was just curious as to why she attacked this time. Does anybody elses corn squeeze the "life" out of f/t's before eating?

ps It was interesting to see just how damn fast they can strike and get wrapped around that mouse

my corn does this all the time... and once he's already grabbed the mouse, i use a plastic fork to jiggle the mosue so he can retend it's struggling. Just a little game i play with him :D

My female amel knows when I put her in her feeding box...it's feeding time. Sometimes she'll grab it out out of my hand. Usually I put the pinkies in the box then her. If she don't eat it I just wiggle it and she'll see it and go for it. My male ghost, however, will just start to eat it without any reaction. I can put him on the ground with the fuzzie in a little lid and he'll start to eat it. He usually eats rear first. I wonder why???
