putting frogs together?

mistysprouse Nov 07, 2003 04:26 PM

ok I am writing this for a friend new to frogs. Can you put different kinds of frogs in the same tank? He is getting some White's tree frogs for free, and is interested in getting some of the bright colored frogs (blue, red, I don't know there name). Is this allowed? help!

Welcome to the forum,

It is impossible to keep different species together and provide ideal care conditions for all the animals in the tank at the same time. Different species need different habitats, temperatures and foods. When you keep two different species together you are compromising one species care for another. Whites tree frogs are very large frogs with a large appetite and most won't hesitate to eat frogs that are smaller than they are. Print out the information at www.amphibiancare.com/frogs/communitytank.html as well as the information on the links at the bottom and give it to your friend. Its a more detailed explination than what I wrote here. Good luck,
