Blood Health Problem????

JRC May 30, 2003 04:44 PM

I have a young male Borneo Blood python that has small bumps on his head. They arent affecting him at all though. He moves around lots but has never been a great feeder. The bumps are brown in color. Could this be linked to humidity?
thanks for any answers

I just received my new red blood yearling and he had bumps on his scales and head.I looked into it and the best remedy I thought sounded good was 50 50 water and hydrogen peroxide and wipe areas with a Q tip. Then use POLYSPORIN not neosporin once or twice a day, and in a few sheds will go away.I can already tell the difference this first week of treatment. Also It recommends to keep your humidity but keep your tank bottom dry.I added an extra bowl of moss, and still have the same water bowl and humidity around 60-75% unitil he's about to shed then I'll spray for more humidity. I was told this is from to much humidity or moisture on the substrate. It's blisters forming under the scales, or begining of scale rot is what I read.I went to redtailboa.com and found this info after punching in scalerot on yahoo search.Hope this helps.Good luck, Ethan
