Cages for Beardes

ragateway Nov 07, 2003 06:12 PM

Hi all:
I am looking into getting a baby bearded and was wondering what their caging requirements might be. Should I put them in a large cage that they will grow into, or should I start out with a smaller cage and go to a larger one as they reach adulthood? Any other advice you have would also be appreciated. I would like to learn about their needs before I make the purchase. Thank you for all the great advise.

Ralph

You can start with a smaller tank, or you can get a larger and partition it off, extending the partition as he grows. They grow pretty fast.
I would suggest to do a search on "bearded dragon care sheets", there are several good ones. Learn from your research because pet store employees very often will try to get you to buy unneeded things and often don't know the first thing about dragons beyond what the store care sheet says (and those have proven to be very wrong).
You can always come back here and ask if you are unsure about something. Congrats for researching before you buy, your beardie will surely appreciate it.
