Heating rubbermaid tubs

Is it ok to place your sterilte or rubermaid tubs directly on heat tape? Has anyone had problems doing this?

I place my rubbermaid directly on a Dragon's Lair Heat Mat attached to a thermostat with no problems. I would make sure to use a thermostat though.
