Can someone explain what exactly to do with the heat pad once i get it? Im confused when I think of it...Seems like it would make the tank lop-sided? Just looking for general directions for one. Thanks

Can someone explain what exactly to do with the heat pad once i get it? Im confused when I think of it...Seems like it would make the tank lop-sided? Just looking for general directions for one. Thanks
I believe that heat pads have instructions, lol. But, you NEVER want to place it on your tank then place the tank on the carpet. They don't lop-side your tank or anything so don't sweat that. Just peel the adhesive-protective sticker off then choose a good location for the heat pad(On your warm end, if yopu have a heat lamp put it below that) and slap it on. Good luck!

I don't see why it would make it lopsided either because my Exo Terra Hagen heat pad came with four pegs that glue to each of the corners of the tank! if it does end up being lopsided you could make your own pegs to prop it up - just use pieces of rubber!

Well, you need to have your tank raised up a bit so heat doesnt get trapped at the bottom and cause a crack. Most head pads come with little rubber feet to elevate your tank a bit. Personally I used a wooden board and placed it under my tank to let air circulate over the UTH's area.
I would hope that everyone has the common sense to put the rubber feet on... O_O
