Updates and pictures of Tommy and Caesar

xelda Nov 08, 2003 03:49 PM

Okay, this is Caesar today. I just weighed him, and he is 38 grams.

And here's Tommy!! ^_^ Wow, hard to recognize, isn't he? You can't see it in the picture, but those spots are actually lavender, purple, and baby blue. He's my lil' cupcake.

I've had Tommy for 6 weeks and Caesar for 7 weeks. Tommy is the one that I got for free when I told the breeder that Caesar had hookworms and coccidia. Turns out that Tommy tested positive for coccidia too. I just started giving him Albon today, because I wanted to let him get a little bigger first.

I don't know if Caesar's in the clear yet. Tommy's case never developed into a disease, but I still want to get rid of the parasites. I'm fortunate to only have to deal with mild cases. Still, I'm really obsessed about keeping everything as clean as I can. I'm learning more and more about how indestructible oocysts are, and it's impossible to relax when I've got 5 more leos upstairs that I could carelessly transmit the illness to.

oOoo your leos are cute!! and tommy looks great! he was hard 2 recognize... he really looked like that? gorgeous! what do you use to weigh your leos? i'm curious 2 see how much mine weighs - how much do 6 - 7 month old leos weight on average (well...for you, personally)? i hope they're all clear of the parasites/bacteria they came with - you're doing a really great job! also, i thought you lived in the dorms at ur school? how do you have an upstairs?

Yes, that's Tommy. He looks like a cheeto with sprinkles. Oh, with a head and a tail, of course. I wanted to get a better picture of him, but he was too busy running around making sure everything was ok after I cleaned his tank.

I live at home with my parents, because I'm too cheap to pay rent, and my mom cooks dinner for me. The school's only 35 minutes from my house, so it's not a bad commute.

I have two digital scales. I bought them both off of eBay. A pocket one costs $20-$25, but it's kinda cheap. It's like a calculator. A basic full-sized one is $30-$40 with the shipping. Anyway, if Marlene is about the same size and age as Caesar, she probably weighs close to what he does, at least 40 grams. I already consider him a sub-adult, and he just ate his first superworm the other day.

Thanks, Aimee.
