anyone got water pics?

raumdagon Nov 08, 2003 07:09 PM

hey all!!! long time no post, but has anyone got any water monitor pics? preferably full grown ones posing with their owners for size comparison. my water is currently at 4and a half feet and rapidly getting larger. although i know how big they are supposed to get i could use a decent comparison with a person...just want a better mental image (cuz right now im for some reason seeing a full grown croc living with me). besides ive seen lots of water pics but NONE with their owners. which suprizes me cuz samara has such a wonderfull temperment ive already taken several pics with me and her...im sure someone else has taken a snapshot of themselves and their waters.

go to cybersalvator.com, then to Photo Galleries and scroll down to the images of the various subspecies of V salvator. Some of the pics have people in them for you to get an idea of scale

I have some pictures, however I don't believe they would help. My water monitor was stuted at birth and only grew to about 3ft., according to the previous owner. I would suggest that you visit www.themonitorspot.com. They have a few pictures of people holding what appears to be the tyipical sized full grown water. How old is your water now?

i got my water around march/april and at that time the qwner said she was about 8 months. condisering she was about right under 2 feetat the time it seemed a bit small...currently id would say she is about a year and a half old and 4 and a half feet.
you got a stunted water? oh that sux...
but stunted growth is actually a concern i have myself...seems like she should be bigger at this point in time?

Most monitors grow the most in the first 1-2 years. I'm no expert, but I would guess that your monitor will grow to 5-5 1/2ft. This isn't bad. Have you had it sexed? You may have a female. As for my monitor, she's 15 years old and not getting any bigger. She's a great monitor though. Here's a picture of her though. She was asleep and I woke her up
