New Cage...But need answers ---Also bad iguana treatment!

jeffboren Nov 08, 2003 10:16 PM

Well i just built a smaller version of the pvc cage ont the iguana den website. My iguana is only about a foot and a half long so i didnt make it as big and uses smaller mesch...but its dimentions are; 3 1/2 feet high 3 feet wide and 3 feet deep..plus the length of a elbow type fitting and a male adapter. My ig just loves it!
But i have a couple questions;

Since this cage is huge compared to him...will the size stress him out... he was used to a little 25 gallon that he came in..will it be too big a shock for me to handle him for a day or two?

Also how do u post pictures i thought u guys might want to see him and my Ig

On another note.
I went to petco tonite to get a clamp lamp and and big bulb. i saw there igs and they were skinny dehydrated and had lots of brownish black dots on there back. they were stupid enough to let me take some close up pictures of there broken toes and bad looking back. where could i turn the pictures in to get something to happen to the way they treat there igs?

Thanx 4 any help!

About the bad iguana care, visit the link below if you want to submit your "story" & pictures to PETA's Petco Sucks website. In the meantime, contact your local humane society & even the BBB. Pictures can do a lot of justice...

I turned in a bad pet store in my area. Go to the local Animal Control. They will investigate, and send a report to the Department of Agriculture, which issues the licenses for pet stores to sell reptiles. Your pictures will come in very handy for the Animal Control to use in their complaint.

-is go to Petco's website and submit a complaint. While I don't like their petstores, I have to admit they sometimes do take complaints seriously.

And of course, speak to the manager and don't shop there any more. Although for people in remote locations, this is easier to say than do!
