This baby was sold to me as a hypo bloodred. Sorry for the quality of the pic. It has no red anywhere on it and has black belly checkers. It looks totally normal to me. Please let me know what you think.

Bloodreds don't have checkered bellies, and it does look dark for a 'hypo'...

Maybe instead it is a baby produced by mating a hypo to a bloodred, making it normal, but het for both traits.

The head pattern does not say "bloodred".
The colors do not say "hypo" OR bloodred.
The belly does not say bloodred.

Get your $$ back and let us all know who is misrepresenting their products so we don't fall prey to them too. From what I can see and from what you tell us about the belly, you may have paid too much for a "common" corn.

I got my first hypo bloodreds this year. I see them almost every day.They are extremly bright red with very light grey heads. I wish I could post a pic. but wont have a digi.cam till xmas. anyway hope you didn't pay the going rate for the hypo bloodreds.please tell us who sold them to you ,so we don't get riped off by them also.
