from what i have read on here, they can do it, it's roughly just over $400, and no, they do not recommend breeding again.

Yeah they told me 475 for mine and I think Morgana had one done to a panther. I remember someone posting about it maybe a month ago. If they had difficulties once, they probably shouldn't be bred again, since it could easily happen the next time. I'd even spay them while you're in there. That's assuming they survive the surgery and recovery process.

Hi Dennis,

Over the years, we have had several females that had c-sections in one way or another.

One panther was gravid with her second clutch when she developed problems. We elected to have the surgery, clean her out and have her spayed. She is over 4-1/2 years old currently...... fat and sassy. It was a shame - she had great babies!

The most recent panther did well after her surgery for a few days and then suddenly died. We suspected peritonitis. Most of her eggs were "multiples" and this most likely ruptured the tubes inside her.

We have had at least 2 veiled that had to have c-sections. Neither survived the invasive surgery to recover. Both had good eggs that later hatched.

The surgery is so hard on them... it is a last resort, but sometimes the only choice. Our vet charges us less than $200 for this procedure, and lets us observe too.

Hope this info helps,
