Burmese Size Question

jmd Nov 09, 2003 08:19 AM

I have a male Burmese Python that eats a medium size rat once a week. He is a little under 4 feet. When should I expect him to reach 9-11 feet? Thanks.

9-11 feet for a male burmese is about as big as they get (on average. Feeding at a relatively moderate pace like you are doing I wouldn't expect to see him getting that size for 18-24 months. Males tend to grow slower then females. Why do you want him so big. If you are trying to breed they can breed at smaller sizes than that and if you just want a big snake do not worry he will ge there. Hope this answered your question, Todd
