Hey Don,
I was under the impression that your Okeetees were more outcrossed and selective bred vs "pure" Okeetee blood. (if threre is such a thing as "pure" Okeetee blood)
My question is simple....Are your Okeetees, okeetee blood or selective bred okeetee/normal/whatever mix.
Please do not take this as anything other then a question to clarify whether I should call my Okeetee, from you, Okeetee or Okeetee "phase".
He just doesn't have the wide black borders typical of Okeetees.
In my Opinion he is still a beautiful snake and I wouldn't trade him for the world but I am curious as to labeling once I start breeding him.
Thanks
Jimmy (Draybar)

Just imho,

this is something that I would ask in a mail or a private message, but not in a forum.
Don't misunderstand me, but half of the post consists of "what you sold me doesn't look typical" the other part will lead to a discussion about what is an Okeetee, an Okeetee Phase and so on...

Greetings from Germany

I posted it here specifically because there as been so much discussion on what is and is not Okeetee.
Don sold me that Okeetee as an Okeetee.
I am not questioning his ethics or practices and I am not questioning his honesty. NO WAY.
I am just curious as to his defintion.
This is in no way derogatory towards Don.
It is a simple question that might clear things up for more then just me.

Don,
If you feel this is putting you on the spot or that this should not be a public question I apologise.
I didn't mean it to be anything other then what it is...A question as to your definition.

That looks like it came from my light line of Okeetees. Here is a picture of one of them. I haven't yet named them, but am working on it. As soon as I nail down the black borders on this one, I'll be adding it to my site as a different Okeetee with a different price as the typical ones.

If you have the serial number of that snake, I can tell you if it's related to this one, but it sure looks like some of the babies from this line.

Those are my favorite looking Okeetee phase. The remind me a lot of the more typical, in my experice, coastal SC plains cornsnakes. May just be due to the specific areas most of the F1's I've seen originated.

Great animals there, though, Don! No doubt about that. I never did like the ones where the black borders get over-exaggerated.

One of the reasons I didn't feel as if this was a bad question or the wrong place to ask it is the simple fact that I think "Doc" is a beautiful snake.
Anyone that as frequented this site for any length of time as seen plenty of pictures of him and have heard nothing but praise from me.

Awesome to have ya back. We missed ya.

I know you're really getting heavily into the Emory's complex (or whatever ya call it), but I hope you'll save a few cages for some killer corns like you used to breed. I know you have some nice locality Kisatchies from Texas. Don't you have some from Louisiana too??? Is your web site coming back up???

See ya at the Houston sale coming up this weekend.
