not enough heat?

blackheart17 Nov 09, 2003 01:17 PM

My beardie is not eating much and i'm wondering if it's because he doesn't have enough heat in his tank. I have a uv-light and heat bulb and also a red heat bulb both right ontop of his cage. But his tank is only reaching about 85*, is that too cold for him?

He needs a basking spot of at least 95-105 right under his basking light. The cool side of the tank should be around 85.
Either raise your basking area or get a higher watt bulb.

Make sure you are measuring surface temps and not ambient air temps.
