Wouldn't baking soda get on the mouse, and then into your snake when it eats it? Is baking soda ok for snakes? I use one teaspoon of imatation vanilla to a gallon of water for odor control. It really works. REALLY.

The safest and best way to control odor is clean the container twice weekly and to use Vanilla drops in the water bottles. Pine shavings are very effective with uring absorbtion and odor control also. Alfalfa pellets will degrade in with urine and grow bacteria, smell, and can cause foot blister on mice.
