had to resort to "repcal juvi pellets for iguana's"

pogo_the_dragon Nov 09, 2003 08:08 PM

I don't have a credit card to order online and I have 3 Petsmarts in my area and only 1 carries REPCAL pellets but only sell the pellets for the adult beardies which are wayyyy to big for pogo. So I bought the repcal juvi pellets. I compared nutritional value and they are the same. Actually the protein is 24% which is higher than the adult bearded stuff but I figured this was good since the juvi beardies grow quick. All other ingredients are the same except I believe from other posts the bearded pellets are fortified with crix! This will be fine won't it?? Actually I signed up for a visa debit card through my bank so I can make online purchases but I have a 2 week wait.....

I order from reptilesupply.com and they will let you order using paypal. They have great prices and have treated me well. I hope this is not considered avertising. If it is not alowed let me know.

Yes, that will work since you provide the live foods as well. I too at times feed zoomed or rep-cal iguana pellets to my dragons as I only use it to supplement, and add variety to the greens/veggies part of the diet, and not the live foods in the diet, which they get plenty of to begin with. It will be fine to feed Pogo the iguana juvenile pellets since you also feed the crickets, and are not feeding pellets to replace live foods.

Most pet stores will special order something for you. If they can get it for Iggies, they should be able to get it for Beardies.
