how to use silicone

does anyone know if i should work in a ventilated area when using a silicone? this never was mentioned on the package.

I would suggest it.The smell bothers me more then anything.What I like to do in the winter is to glue,say a background,up in the basement then take it outside to cure.Hope this helps.
