What are your felling on Nekton-Rep supplements?

jrbl Nov 10, 2003 12:48 AM

I have seen this stuff for sale in the classifieds and it looks like great stuff, but is it really? Is it any better than minerall or any other herp supplement? Do any of you use this stuff? I would like to use it, but I dont know if it is actually worth using. Help me out on this, thanks, jrbl

Nekton as a company makes good products. The only trouble is...they are not formulated specifically for carnivorous herps (that I know of) so may not be the best out there. Is this a mineral or vitamin supplement? If it is a mix of both, avoid it. It is better to keep mineral and vitamin dusts separate as they interact chemically and degrade each other. If it is a vitamin check the level of vit. A. Many herp vitamins are too high in vit A and D. If this is a mineral dust it may not be any better than RepCal, Minerall, etc. which also work. What is more important for the long term is how well you gutload your feeders and how carefully you schedule when you dust.
