Tumore, like yucky thing on one of my male feeder guppies

herpfood Nov 10, 2003 06:19 AM

Hello all,
I have a question...

I was looking into my breeder guppies tank, and I noticed one of the males on like teh bottom side of him had this, white small hulled millet(seed) like thing on the side of him. It looks really gross? A tumor, I have no clue?

ANy ideas?

The only thing I can think of really is a hulled millet seed. As I do own several birds! Maybe one of the millet seeds, fell in the tank, he swallowed, and now its lodged in him.

Anywho,
I won't feed him to rthe herps

Steven

WEll, that fish died. I took him out and looked at him closely. Yuck, like in his skin was a bubble, in the bubble was an baby guppy, and yes this was a male!

Now I've discovered another guppy like this in the tank?
WHats happening???????????/

sounds like it was a fluke (parasite) and not a baby guppy. Flukes are worm like things that grow under the skin. Your local fish shop should have something to kill them.
If it was mine, I would go ahead and kill the one that's already obviously infected and treat the rest.
