pooping on his food/water bowls

velcro Nov 10, 2003 09:32 AM

Wierd question....is there a reason that our 6 month old beardie would ONLY poop on the sides of his food and water bowls? This started happening just within the last couple of weeks when we bought him larger food/water dishes. He has a 40gallon breeder aquarium and lots of room to poop elsewhere.

Just wondered...

Because he's evil, and has a mind of his own... Don't underestimate them! The following is for iguanas, but alot of it can apply to beardies as well.

Funny you send me that link....last night while i was prying the fresh poopy from the side of his dish, I think I saw him smile!!!

My anole did the same thing! He would only poop on the edges of the waterfall I had in her tank. I don't know why, but they like to poo there! I think the moister makes it easy or something. Lots of lizards do it, so don't worry.

Mine seem to have certain pooping places, maybe that bigger bowl is in his spot. Try moving the bowl to the opposite side of the tank and see if he still does it.
