White Ball Pythons....

EmberBall Nov 10, 2003 12:07 PM

I have never understood why the Leucistic Ball python is supposed to be the pinicle of Ball Pythons. They are the rarest of the rare genetically speaking? OK, that makes some sense, but, we breed out the color of albinos to get snows....Leucistic wanna bees. I like the white ball pythons, but for me personally, the orange ghost spider is my favorite. I am intersted to see how many people put a White Ball Python of some sort (Snow, Lucy, Ivory) at the top of their list, and how many have a Ball with some color in it as their favorite.

Even the ones that don't really excite me, I still find a certain amount of admiration. I even find some normals I like more than others.

They're all beautiful in their own way!

My personal favorites are my normals.
It's a plus if they carry the genetics to produce a mutation.

I still have the very first BP that I've ever had. I got her back when BPs were throw away snakes. Hard to believe huh?

As for the morphs, I like them all. Whether they are solid white, white with a bit o' yellow, dirty white, grey and black, whatever. There is not a single mutation that I don't like.

I'm in this for the snakes, not the back-stabbing jealous politics that unfortunately go along with breeding ANY type of animal.

I wish everyone a great breeding season! And love your snakes people.

Take care,
Jen

Your statement is so true! Sad but true. But some need their egos satisfied. Perhaps their only claim of any real accomplishments in life. And some others can not admire a thing of beauty.

Here is my favorite morph. Pieds!!!!!!
I might add a great photo too!

Who ever said that the Leucistic Ball python is supposed to be the pinacle of Ball Pythons????? I think that Ralph's Lucy is the most beautiful snake I have ever saw. What is there not to like about a totally white, blue-eyed snake?? The only thing that I dont like about it is the fact that Ralph hatched 3 this year and I hatched ZERO !!! No matter how many people start to dis on the Lucy, Ralph WILL make a kazillion dollars off of them because you same people want one so bad you can taste it. Do I think that it is the pinacle?? No. I think we have only just begun seeing all the cool color and pattern morphs for ball pythons.
I am starting to save my money for a blue eyed Lucy NOW, because they are totally beautiful. But then again, I dont remember seeing too many ball pythons that I thought were ugly?????
