Does anybody have directions on building a 36 watt bright kit like in AH supply. I just dont have the money to buy the kit, and figured I could buy the parts from and do it myself.

Check out http://www.konza.ksu.edu/~blbrock/ . There are instructions on DIY compact fluorescents. However, don't expect to save yourself a ton of money buying the components separately. Ahsupply is pretty reasonably priced.
Alternatively, you might check out your local salvage yard (as in construction salvage--call around or check local classified papers like the Trader). I bought 3 cf ceiling fixtures which each contained 3 40 watt bulbs for $8 each (including the bulbs).
Oh, one place you will find you can beat the Ahsupply prices in on the bulbs. Check out bulbs.com for much better prices (even on 5000k's).
