jackson's eye problem

chacoantegu Nov 10, 2003 06:37 PM

i have a 6 month old male jackson's that i have had since he was 7 weeks old. since then i have not had any problems with his health. today i noticed after misting him that both of his eyes swell up every few seconds really big and red then go down quickly. he was also rubbing his eyes agains a branch in an effort in what i think to get rid of whatever is in his eye. i also read this. if this does not go away and his eyes get biggger what should i do about this. i am not too concerned because it happened to my female when she was 4 months old but i was concerned if it gets worse

Is he cleaning them? Most chams will roll and bulge their eyes around under the lids when sprayed. If the eyes don't go back down to normal after a few seconds there may be a problem.

his eyes were going down about a second after they got big it just scared me because it was bright red kind of like a heart beat. its not doing it anymore so it is fine now

It may be that skin normally hidden by creases/folds in the unstretched eye turret looks more red than the part you normally see. I know some of my chams showed this when they were rolling their eyes to clean.
